RFCT has an upcoming SHOW!
The River Falls Community Theatre is rehearsing for their upcoming spring production of Marvin's Room, a dramatic play written by Scott McPherson and directed by Tyler Haines.
Performances will be May 1 - 4, 2025 at Junior's Restaurant & Tap House, River Falls.
Bessie, a strong-willed woman, takes care of her bedridden father and eccentric Aunt Ruth. After Bessie is diagnosed with leukemia, her estranged sister, Lee, comes to visit and to be tested as a possible bone marrow donor for her sister. The reunion between the sisters is initially uncomfortable, aggravated by the difficult behavior of Lee's two sons. The two women eventually confront their shortcomings as sisters, reach out to each other, and arrive at an understanding about the importance of family.
The play is based upon McPherson's experiences with older relatives who lived in Florida. McPherson cared for his partner, the cartoonist and activist Daniel Sotomayor, who died from AIDS. His experiences living in the darkest days of the AIDS epidemic influenced his writing.

The River Falls Community Theatre is supporting Ashley Steiner's WonderWorks Theatre to bring our children's summer production of The Rainbow Fish to the stage in August.
Experience the magical, colorful world of the deep blue sea in this delightful, non-musical adaptation.
Everybody loves the international bestseller and award-winning book, The Rainbow Fish, with its wonderful message of friendship and belonging. With shiny, multi-colored scales, Rainbow Fish is the most beautiful fish in all of the ocean, and the only one of his (or her!) kind. But when Rainbow Fish refuses to share his vibrant, shimmering scales, the whole ocean seems to turn against the vain creature. Unhappy that no one adores him anymore, the Rainbow Fish seeks out the wise Octopus, who helps him learn that it’s far better to be admired for being kind than for being beautiful.
Registration is now open for ages 6-15 for the play.
